"I’ve been to this school since second grade I had some good and bad times but I’ll explain the bad 1 the staff is so rude they took my football and never gave it back they also yell for no god damn reason sometimes 2 the lunch they really gonna serve kids cold cheese with cold bread like we’re in prison I’m in 6th grade and about to graduate but I’m glad to leave I’m fed up with this school"

"My daughter is in 4th grade and has been at Thomas Holme since 2nd grade. We love this school. We did have an issue with a bully who was 2 years older than my daughter, but Dr. Gill (principal) and Mrs. Ciotti (counselor and teacher) handled it very well. For a Philadelphia public school, Thomas Holme has very good arts and music development programs. They were 1 of 2 Philadelphia schools to be chosen by Walnut Street Theater for a special grant. Walnut Street Theater sends teachers from the theater weekly to incorporate the arts into the students regular classes and lessons. Last year my daughter was part of their first production, Annie. It was awesome. Mr. Petit, the music and drama teacher is also awesome. On 10/5/17 there is a ribbon cutting for the brand new keyboard lab, one of the first in Philadelphia School District. Settlement Music School also comes to the school on Mondays and Wednesdays after school for band and orchestra... and it costs a whopping $25 for the whole year, instrument included. My daughter plays the violin with them. I can't say enough good things about this school. Both myself and my partner volunteer for different things there and it's like being part of a family. There are a lot of bad reviews but this school is like many other places whereas you get what you put into it. If you are an involved parent or you're a good student, this place is wonderful. However, they don't put up with poor attendance, bad behavior, bullies, bad attitudes or BS, from students, or in a lot of cases, the parents."

"I moved to this area 4 years ago, my son's where in 6th grade , 4th grade and prek. I heard a lot about the school some not so nice. Now 4 years later my older boys have graduated from Thomas Holmes and my youngest is in 2nd grade, I love this school, from the greatest principle Dr Gill to the great teachers, I can't say enough good about it!!!!"
