"Do not send your child to this or any other Art school. There simply are not enough Art jobs for the number of students these schools are churning out."
"If you want one of the top schools anywhere for visual and performing arts , UofA is the place to apply. Not your traditional campus. The buildings are located within a two block area on Broad st. in downtown Philly. There admissions requirements are exacting but if you can get in, and if you're a city person, this is the place."
"I graduated from UArts many years ago. The positive is the university is one of, if not the only university that offers creative and performing arts under the same roof. The amount of exposure to other disciplines a student can experience are excellent. The negative is the price. The tuition rate for a undergrad degree is so high that it's like an offensive joke. It wouldn't be so bad if the job market for creatives were robust in Philadelphia. It's not, not by a long shot. If a student attends UArts, expect large amounts of debt upon graduation and you absolutely must relocate because Philadelphia isn't a good city to be a creative. Don't let the marketing fool you, Philly wants to be a creative city, like New York, respected, but in reality the city is a poser that doesn't deliver for those already here. I was an animation major at UArts in a department that labeled computer animation a "fad", video game design a "waste of talent" and refused to acknowledge digital editing and output. Totally ignorant of the changing industry and proud of this ignorance. It's improved to an extent since last I visited (a few months ago) but judging from what my nephew (who is currently a student) told me about his animation courses, UArts is still not quite up to speed on practices and technology in animation. Not cool for that tuition rate. If I had to do it all over again, I probably would not attend UArts. As such, I wouldn't recommend the university to anyone else except those from very rich families that are attending simply for something to do."
"I am so eager to apply for this school, this school is my first choice out of all my options, I really hope I get accepted into this amazing school. I've heard so many great things about the University, seen many videos online regarding this school, and watched many films that the students in the film department have created and I'm so astound by the work I've seen from some notable alumni. I'm currently a senior in high school right now and I'm hoping to major in film making at this school. This would honestly be my dream. Does anyone know exactly what will guarantee my acceptance into this school. I'll honestly do whatever means possible to ensure myself getting accepted into this amazing University."
"This is my daughters first year at UArts as a transfer student. I have had nothing but a welcoming, pleasant and knowledgeable staff to help me with this transition. It is her first year away from home and I was very concerned for her safety and well being. I visited Philly over the summer to check out the area. I instantly fell in love. The city is amazing and full of culture. I am more than comfortable with my daughter attending UArts. Amazing staff and students. I'm looking forward to her having a great year!! I want to thank the staff for answering all my questions and giving me peace of mind."
