"Republic bank is a joke ! They allow payments to go through when they shouldn’t be when you don’t have the funds. We all know apple cancels Subscriptions when you have insufficient funds. Well republic allows them to go through and then put your account in the negative and then close your account. I called over 5 times to talk to a Manager before Kenny decided to answer the phone his extension is 3438. He laughed at me. He just wanted to yeah yeah yeah me. They don’t take accountability for the things that they do. I called apple and they confirmed they do not get payment unless the BANK accepts it. All apple is allowed to do is REQUEST the payment and they can be denied. Republic takes it upon themselves to accept. And then blame us for it and orginally blamed it on apple. This is a joke of a bank. I will NEVER suggest this company to anyone and the people I know with these accounts I will be telling them to leave. Your managers laugh at your customers and do nothing to help. Completely unprofessional."

"Originally we had nothing but great experiences with Republic up until now. My wife and I were forced to move to a different state due to lack of employment from COVID and decided to stick with Republic because they had typically been very accommodating and understanding, until today... having relocated to North Carolina, there were a few bills we needed to switch to different accounts, but as you may know, you miss some from time to time. So we had over-drafted recently and received our normal call to resolve the charges, in which I had answered and asked to call them back in a few minutes as I was on the other line with work. I called back literally 3 minutes later to hopefully resolve the issues, but the employee, Janine, had already taken it upon herself to choose which charges were to be returned and I was told they are unable to adjust it now that she had submitted the returns. So because she couldn’t wait for 3 minutes for me to call back, we are now left without funds, unable to get proper treatment or even see our physicians and both my wife and I have just been diagnosed with COVID last night. It’s now past the window of opportunity to fix the adjustments, they can settle over drafts from 8:30am-10:00am EST, and can’t even get our necessary prescription or OTC medication to help us cope with the symptoms. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced at ANY bank and highly recommend that anyone interested in going here for an account either use an alternate location or bank."
"I went into the bank after hours at 4:45pm today to make a cash deposit. When I insert my card into the ATM after getting inside, the ATM held my card for 15 mins and it immediately started to shutdown and then 5 mins later it starts to reboot meanwhile my card is still stuck in the ATM. So I wait and wait hoping that it will reboot and I’d be able to make my deposit but eventually it let go of my card and I walked out very very disappointed because I needed to make that deposit to pay bills, etc. I love Republic Bank and I have been banking with them for about 3 years now I believe and I love everything about it but this experience I had today with the ATM had made me reconsider if I should stay or go to another bank who will be happy to take my money but I will try my hardest not to do that as long as they don’t schedule an ATM reboot when I come in to make a deposit!"
