"Our experience with Dr. Gross was lovely. My 10 y/o is quiet and nervous about going to the doctor's, but Dr. Gross was kind, patient, and warm. We're very glad we discovered the practice!"
"Dr. Gross is a wonderful physician. Dr. Gross is easy to communicate with and has an Excellent bedside manner (if that means anything anymore lol). I would highly recommend Dr. Gross to any of my family and friends."
"Dr. Gross was very patent with me and addressed all of my health concerns. They made sure I felt comfortable during my entire visit. I felt like Dr. Gross really cared about my concerns and listened carefully. 10/10 recommend if you're looking for a new primary care doctor."
"I had such a great experience with Dr. Gross at my first wellness visit this week. They really took the time to ask questions about my life, family history, medical history, and so on. It felt like Dr. Gross wanted the "full story" in order to provide personalized, specific advice. I feel like I'm in really good hands and that Dr. Gross has my best interest at heart. Thank you!"
"In my experience, Dr. Gross was harmfully dismissive and lacking empathy. Despite his seemingly polite demeanor, Dr. Gross is the first doctor I've gone to that has shown such blatant disregard for my well-being. As a black woman, there have been other times I've had difficulty getting a doctor to take me seriously. This is the first one that has made me feel so devalued as a human being. After getting blood drawn at a different Virtua location and experiencing debilitating pain between my fingers and my shoulder for a whole week, I was sure something was wrong. I've never had pain that lasted more than a day after a blood draw and it was only ever in the area I was jabbed in. It was the first time I've even developed such a dark bruise from a blood draw. I've had tingling, numbness and weakness in my hand. The nurse seemed taken aback by the pain I described and bruising she observed. I heard her tell Dr. Gross about it in the hallway. Yet, literally minutes later, he came in and pretended to not know I was experiencing pain. Dr. Gross looked at the bruised part of my arm and said, "Oh, that just looks like a bruise." He pretended to be surprised when I told him about the pain. He said "that's weird." He curiously felt different parts of my arm and then proceeded to try to convince me that the pain and twitching was just because of bruising and to take some ibuprofen and use a warm compress. I asked if there was a possibility of nerve damage and he said he "can't rule it out" but he just doesn't "have a reason to think so." He outright lied and said that even if it was nerve damage, there would be nothing I could do about it anyway. I asked about how long it would take to see an improvement and he was stumped. He said he really doesn't know and it's hard to say, etc. After about a minute of beating around the bush, he said maybe I'd start to see improvement in a week. He said he'd be concerned if I was experiencing numbness. I reminded him that I was experiencing numbness in my fingers and weakness in my hand when I gripped things. He dismissed it anyway. I asked if I should be resting my arm and he said he doesn't "have a reason to tell me to rest it" but that he "doesn't have a reason to tell me not to rest it either." I was left baffled. I have to acknowledge the one good part of my experience. The receptionist is very polite and helpful. The nurses here are amazing. They are so kind and humorous. They always make me feel like I'm cared about. Both of the times I went here, I was feeling kind of blue and the nurses were the first people to make me genuinely smile on those days. Before I met the doctor, I thought I had finally found a good primary care provider. But afterwards, I felt so discouraged that I'm dreading my next doctor's appointment even though it will be with a different doctor."
