"This situation is not my own but my mothers. My mother joined Oak Street health due to the convenient location and promised personal care for the elderly. Since she’s joined she has no seen the same Dr twice. It’s impossible to get a Dr on the phone for questions and they have a high turn over rate with their physicians. But that’s not even close to my biggest issue with this medical office. My mother was seen by a practitioner who once again my mom had to repeat her medical issue because this practitioner was new to my mothers case. My mom suffers from insomnia and was on a med for over 20 years although the medicine didn’t help my mom get a full nights rest it did help her sleep a sound 4-5 hours. Well the practitioner Emmy wasn’t happy with the med she claimed it had negative side affects so she took her off and prescribed something new. My mother was willing to try it however the pharmacy said her. Insurance wouldn’t cover it. So for three days my mom went without any medicine and any sleep. She called the Dr Oak Street all three of those days and didn’t receive a return call. On the fourth day Emma called and asked my mom for the phone number to her insurance. Said she would call and dispute with them in order to get the medicine approved. My mother’s insurance company is Cigna and she told Emma that her insurance card was on file and that didn’t know the number off top of her head and that it’s in her file which Emma said she had access to, my mom asked Emma is she could send in another prescription to the pharmacy so she wouldn’t have to wait and could possibly get so sleep and Emma said “I’m not doing that”. So I took the phone and said so you’re telling me that you took my mother off of a med that was working to prescribe her something she can’t get approved so in the mean while she’s unable to sleep and she’ll just have to tough it out until you battle it out with the insurance and she said yes, so I said so you don’t care if she sleeps or not and she said no….. I asked to speak to her manager and Emma said she’ll have her call me but I waited 4 days for you to call. Then Emma hung up. I’m going up to Oak Street on Aramingo tomorrow!!!’"
