Ronnen Abramov, DO

"While I agree with other patients that Dr. Abramov was kind, I had a rather confusing and disappointing interaction with him. To make a long story short, what I have is a non-radiographic form of an autoimmune disease - this means the damage to my SI joints does not show on an x-ray. What Dr. Abramov did was proceed to order an x-ray for me anyway, and they predictably did not find much damage on these images. He then called me to tell me that I didn't have enough evidence of pain on the x-ray for him to treat me. Well, right - it's a non-radiographic disease - we're not going to see any evidence of it on an x-ray. Where it does show up is on MRIs. When we met first, I gave the office all of the images from my prior MRI, ordered by my rheumatologist. I don't know if he just didn't look at them, or if he looked at them but failed to comprehend what was going on. Either way, I felt dismissed unfairly. He could have ordered a new MRI for me, but he didn't. I'm especially stumped about this situation because while my disease is a bit rare, my rheumatologist was able to correctly diagnose it from the MRI report. Dr. Abramov is supposed to be "the best," and l agree he is friendly/has a good bedside manner. But I unfortunately wouldn't recommend him because he seemed to fail to listen to and understand the details of my diagnosis, as well as order the correct type of scan. As a result, I am unfortunately still living with untreated chronic pain and am looking for a doctor who is up-to-date on the newer diagnoses that are out there right now."
