"egregious waste of time and money. i came to genpsych because i needed help with getting workplace accommodations and supports and was constantly being referred to higher level every time i tried to find outpatient. i ended up at genpsych where they assured me they could help me at least with my issues at work while i secured outpatient. my “therapist”, who somehow was also the “director” was horrible at prioritizing her multiple jobs and i took the brunt of it. she constantly dropped my sessions the day of, or asked me to stay after group for hours with no contact just to email me later that something else came up and i wouldn’t get a session. once a week i was supposed to get a one-on-one meeting and that rarely happened. i think i maybe got a third of what i was supposed to. i even brought this up, how this is supposed to be higher care, and i am not even getting the services i am paying for, let alone that i *need*. during sessions she would condone my anger/road rage, laugh about how i referred to myself as nasty things as if these horrible thoughts were jokes and laughed in my face while i was tearing up and trying to open up about a sensitive topic. completely harmful and invalidating in a therapeutic setting especially when there is already strain due to her being incapable of actually having the sessions to begin with. this same therapist took zero notes during sessions and i would find out later from a different therapist in program that she made up information about how i was doing on my chart too. i overlooked a lot of the incompetence and unprofessionalism because i genuinely needed the help and was at my wits end. i figured so long as they can at least help me with my work issues, i could deal once i found outpatient. i told them my job has a lengthy accomodation process and despite this i was told they could help with “whatever i needed”. i was completely blindsided when i was discharged without that help. at that point the “therapist” just stopped listening to anything i had to say and dismissed me and my concerns. she told me i was “winning” in this scenario. i told her i wasn’t ready for discharge and still needed support with work. she didn’t want to hear any of it. then, she gives me a discharge date, only for her to discharge me the following day instead for “refusal” to show up to group on a day that i’m at work… a work schedule that has not changed in four years. so one moment i’m “winning” the next she proceeds to send me more PHP program references and then cancels my existing outpatient that was scheduled by the other therapist, after i asked her not to. now i am being charged an arm and a leg for this stupid program that left me scrambling at my job, zero mental health support for outpatient, and completely disenchanted with mental healthcare as a whole. this is why people struggling end up dead. I can see now why genpsych has such a bad reputation. if you need genuine help, skip this place. they just want your money and Alison should not be working with trauma survivors, or as a therapist at all for that matter if she can’t better delegate her time between directing the entire program and managing her caseloads."
"They don't even answer during normal business hours most of the day. I've called to try to talk to someone about changing my appointment date each day this week and every time I'm sent to voicemail. They are extremely inconsiderate and I will be looking somewhere else."
"They leave fake reviews to make their business look better. They are a group of quackjob scammers. I had an appointment with one of their "professionals" over zoom and they sent me the wrong zoom link and I was put in an empty chat room for a half hour waiting and when I called and told them they said I had to reschedule for 2 weeks later. Best part they tried to charge me for the apparent missed appointment. I had to argue with someones incredibly dumb assistant for over an hour just trying to make them realize their mistake. Eventually they admitted fault and corrected but not after a whole hour of headache arguing and frustation. Not worth your money or time!!!!"
"Great experts as a parent great resources and techniques were shown to my son during his visit and he also made great friends if anyone needs help with mental health please join GenPysch"
