"I had hernia surgery with Dr. Shah and I want to thank them for their help, no surgery is fun but he set me right and was straight with me the whole time. I have to go back for another surgery and wont think twice, I will be using Dr. Shah again!"
"I had Inguinal hernias, left and right side...The staff in St Francis hospital were really good always, but the appoiment with this Doctor for five minutes, he said I needed the surgery in the right side first, two weeks recovery and they had to open. That was so quick but ok in that moment. The recovery was very slow and painful, I was swollen for three months and with pain in my right leg, vaginal lips and all around the belly. The doctor's answer on the following appoiment was that it was normal and that if I had a lot of pain then I should wait, it was time... I started to have a lot of urine infections, stomach infections and all around. So I went to another surgeon to treat the hernia on the left side .... and the difference was huge, I could wear jeans 10 days later, little swelling and zero pain. It's been a year now....and in May I consulted again because I always had pain on my right side and a MRI showed that I have fluid due to the right inguinal hernia surgery and a mass in my appendix (I think due to the hernia). If this doctor had checked and considered that the pain and swelling were not "normal" or if he had done a better surgical job, but now I have to go to surgery again to organize because the mesh he put to cover my hernia is totally exposed...a year with pain, unable to exercise, with infections, doctor visits and I always thought it was all because of that surgery because that is where my health problems come from...and now I can see that I was right, because his work hurt me enormously in quality of life."
"I met with Dr Shah for a consultation. His response to me was “if it was nothing it should be gone by now”. Thank goodness I don’t worry or that would be troublesome. 1 minute later we are scheduling surgery. No explanation of what to expect or when he would be in contact with me. Day of surgery. I was prepped and we were waiting on doctor. Everyone else was VERY nice and informative. He came, circled my neck and left. I never seen and spoke to him after surgery. I scheduled follow up and received 2 calls changing my appointment. I arrive and was with the dr maybe 3 minutes. He walks in says “you don’t have cancer your fine. Ok!” As his hand was on door to leave the room. I said what. He repeated. I said so what is this. He said “your fine ok”. I said so what do I need to do. He says “nothing”. I look at pages because the print on 2/3 pages was so degraded I can’t read it. I asked what it said since he wasn’t telling me anything. He said you don’t need to read it. You can give it to your doctor. I said and tell him that he can’t read it either. He said it’s for pathology. It just shows you don’t have cancer. I asked about the stitches in my neck. He said no it’s okay. I said I can feel them. He said no you can’t. I said I can. Finally he asked to see. As he walked to the wrong side of my neck. He felt it and said the stitches were scar tissue and it would get flat. I’ve had stitches before so know these are stitches. At that point I asked how to get out the office. This drs bed side manner is TERRIBLE!!!! I strongly advise against seeing him. I am a very laid back person so take everything in stride. However, I can say he is the WORST doctor I have ever had to deal with."

"Dr. Rajiv k. Shah does not follow up with his patients my daughter had a mesh put in and has been having trouble with it for the past 2 years and the doctors not doing anything about it."
