"It was a Father's Day wish to try a different lake using our kayak and canoe. Pemberton didn't disappoint. We went later in the day to beat the heat and had a nice quiet time. We were on the water for about an hour and pretty much had the place to ourselves other than 2 anglers. The only downside was that the directions took me to a parking lot which was hard to maneuver with a truck and trailer rather than a boat ramp which I was expecting. Maybe it was somewhere else around the lake."
"The trails were flooded but I saw an eagle dive I. The water after a fish"
"Surprisingly nice lake. Very scenic and very few people. There was a trail from the main parking lot but I didn't follow it too far. I would come here often if I lived close by. Apparently it was a former cranberry bog turned 45 acre lake with a small fishing pier. However, I wouldn't drive far just to go here for a few reasons. There were very few access points and little other than the lake. I didn't see any playground, work out stations, bathrooms or anything but the trail. Secondly the lake has an alage bloom which, if you're into fishing, means not many fish and you can't eat anything. Still it is worth a visit if you're in the area."
"Update on 1/12/2021: Today I stopped by this area to explore the lake only to find out that besides the broken parking area, there was a flat area you may park though it didn’t look like a parking lot. And from there thru the boardwalk, there is a viewing deck. Yet downed trees were blocking the short path to it. Not a place for hiking. Scroll down to see the pictures I took. 01/09/2021 I saw this lake when I drove from Magnolia Rd to Brendan T. Byrne State Forest. So I decided to stop by and check it out on my way back. I found quite a big parking place right by the lake on Colemans Bridge Rd. From there I walked along the lake a little bit but the trail was full of puddles all along, not really easy to walk thru. So I just walked a couple hundred yards and turned back. By the corner of the Lake on Magnolia Rd, there’s a sign of Pemberton Lake Wildlife Management Area with a small parking lot that’s almost unusable! But I saw there’s a boardwalk. Need to go back to check it out some time later. Nevertheless, the lake is beautiful with abundant wildlife. Lots of wild geese sunbathing on the lake."
"Tough place to fish has an algae problem would'nt eat what i catch so i catch and release. There are fish in there . I think kayak fishing would be the way to go you'll cover more of the lake that way like i said it is a tought bank fish. Good experience tho nice and peaceful."
