The Connect Church

"Please beware of this place. It is a cult. I grew up in this “church.” My family attended for many years when it was known as “River of Life” and then “The River.” This “church” has had to change its name several times due to various scandals. I have a close family member who was deeply hurt by this “church” and was so traumatized by her experience that she can no longer set foot inside a church building. She was severely bullied as a teenager by one of the pastors. Like all bullies, this sorry excuse of a pastor is a coward and did her dirty work through others by way of manipulation, so the details of her involvement in my family member’s bullying did not come to light until years later, when other scandals were also exposed. It was also discovered that certain pastors were embezzling church funds. You'll notice other one star reviews of this cult claim that the church is only after people's money and this is why: because tithes and offerings are lining pastors’ pockets."

"Be careful putting your money into this place. I was going weekly, giving money to the Sunday services when one day I felt the need to speak to the senior Pastor about his opinion on a problem. He was gathered with his wife and staff and apparently does not like to mingle with his attendees much. He said, " instead of trying to "connect" with ME, you should speak to the other members and they might help you" I have never went back there since. He only wants your money."

"My family attended for 2 years. If your only need is entertainment, great, this is the place. But that's all there is. I believe Jesus has been removed because of the following: The campus pastor and the senior pastor had a disagreement and the campus pastor was let go of which I did not agree with. This was not all, my family needed a small financial assistance lesson for my 22 year old drug addicted son so we filled out a benevolence form. I received no response. I call and left messages to remind them a few times with no response. We would have understood and accepted a response of no but we got nothing. Ungodly and not biblical."
