Monroe Township Administration Office

"By far the most incompetent group of people my office has had the displeasure of working with. We purchase properties in dozens of townships, this one, is incredibly nasty. I have them on tape disparaging property property owners and making derogatory comments about taxpaying members of the public. We replaced a gate to a fence, just a gate, nothing more. They have gone fully off the rails demanding surveys, zoning permits, construction permits, for replacing a gate (same exact gate, same size). They have refused to issue an occupancy certificate despite all permits being properly submitted, approved, paid, and inspected. Per their own building code - unsafe fences must be replaced (not that we did that, only a gate). However, they won't let someone live in their own property that is fully inspected over (incorrect) zoning "issues" made up by their zoning department. Buyer beware in this township, have a good attorney before getting involved with these power hungry bureaucrats who believe they can make up their own rules and disparage members of the public."
