"My favorite trout stream in the state, very accessable"
"The Sketchy Bridge I was out for a leisurely strole one evening, enjoying the beautiful nature, when I got a call from a long-lost relative. I started talking, and naturally I wanted to talk for a while, to catch up. Next thing I knew, I was walking miles to Nowhere, through a dark forest, 10:00 at night. I had no idea where I was, and I was starting to hear strange noises following me. I told my friend I had to go, and hung up. I opened Google Maps, but low and behold, I had no cell service. And those noises were getting closer. So I did what any sensible, intelligent person would do. I ran. Out of sheer luck, I managed to stumble upon a muddy, overgrown trail, so I started running along it, hoping to come across some evidence of civilization. I did. After running along the trail for about 2 minutes, when I emerged under a bridge, but not just any bridge. It was a very sketchy bridge. In the brilliant moonlight, I could clearly make out it's features. It consisted of a large, stone bridge going over the Pequest river, and another old railroad viaduct going under it. The stone walls of the arch of the first bridge were covered with graffiti, and the ground under it was littered with broken glass. It was not a place I wanted to spend any more time investigating, especially at night. And those noises were growing ever closer; I could make out voices now. So I decided to keep running on the trail, and to cross the old viaduct. The problem was that the viaduct was no longer complete. I had almost stepped over the edge into the churning water below before I caught myself. There was a gaping hole in the bridge. I had nowhere to go, but those noises were getting closer, it sounded like people, yelling. I had only one option. To jump. I gathered my strength, said my prayers, took a running LEAP.......and just barely made it to the other side when someone said: "Do you need some help, Ma'am?" Those voices, they were a rescue party that my family sent when I wasn't back in time. I hate chatty in-laws."
"This is literally right down the road from me,very cool stuff,I've been past the old abandoned bar on the corner millions of times but went for a bike ride and saw what looked like an overgrown entrance to a trail but never went thru it"
"The riverside area is cool."
"Nice easy walk. Path is maintained. This entrance to path is at Pequest Furnace Rd near Rt 46"
