"Owner is nasty and rude. Stay away from her store Reply to the owner- Thats a complete LIE from the first to the last word. On top of being Nasty you are a lier. If I could put -1 star I would do it"
"Nice store selling spiritual items in the heart of Princeton. As soon as you enter the store it feels like you have entered a sacred place. Jill was nice and guided me with various items. I would shop again."
"Great store, thats been here for as long as I remember. Very carefully chosen assortment of items sold here, that i haven't really found anywhere else.. Lots of gift-able stuff. Lots of Buddhist / Hindu items."
"Cozy, welcoming little shop in the heart of Princeton. Has been there for over 25 years! They are always friendly and helpful. Lots of jewelry, clothes, incense, essential oils, candles, flags, decor, trinkets...everything you can think of! The owner has traveled all over the world, purchasing directly from original craft makers in small villages. Everything they sell is unique and fair trade. Support fair trade and local businesses!"
"The shop owner of that little store has absolutely no manners, or he chooses to be nice to certain people. Two days back, I went to Palmer Square on my daughter's birthday to buy her a present from JaZam and to finalize the cake order at the House of Cupcakes. When I got out of the Spring Street garage, I noticed the store, so thought I would take a quick peek as I like collecting things from all Tibet, India and Latin American countries. I used to shop bigger stores like Shop the World in Cambridge, MA in Harvard's Square when I lived in Boston, and always received A warm welcome from the shop owners. The owner of the Shop the World asked me if he could help me as I entered with my daughter. I told him i was just looking and then after a quick scan in the jewelry corner in the middle to see if he still has the Buddha pendant that my sister liked, I proceeded to the door on the other side to leave the store. That's when the owner became hostile. He said, "excuse me, this is not a cut through, you can't come in from one side and exit from the other side." I was taken aback, for the first time in my life a store owner is accusing me of entering his store and treating it like a cut through. So I tried to be nice and said, "it wasn't a cut through really as I just wanted to take a quick look as I like these things. But today I don't have time." He became belligerent, said "you know you are using my store as a cut through and so does your daughter, you are lying." So, he accused me of "cutting through" and being a"liar" in front of my child!! I told him, that was enough, I was never going to shop there, to that he responded that he welcomed my decision as he didn't want people like me in his store! My daughter was terrified, she thought he would call the cops or chase us or something weird like that. He was that unstable. I went and talked to the JaZam, Bent Spoon and House of Cupcakes staff. They were all shocked that he would make such a big deal out of somebody going in one way and coming out via the other door. Apparently, he put signs saying " this is not a cut through," I did not see any such signs. My point is if it bothers him so much, why not keep the door locked? That's the most logical thing to do. I was extremely upset after that encounter. I am certain that either he was unstable or just likes white people. I'm South Asian. Anyway, it was a horrible experience that scared my daughter and left me feeling like a potential shoplifter! I most definitely don't recommend that shop to anyone, unless you are White. Then maybe, just maybe he won't be hostile towards you. I personally noticed the first time I visited the store and so did my sister and another friend that he was giving his full attention to a young white woman and ignored us. Also, a young white college student told me he was always nice to her even though she never bought anything from him. And on the subject, I can help asking, "since when was "cutting through" a crime? People do that at shopping malls all the time. For the record, my visit was not exactly a "cut through" as I was going across the street to JaZam's, which didn't save time at all. I wasn't walking to the library, now that would've been a cut through! :)"
