"TLDR: sketchy business practices and limited selections Before coming here I noticed that there was a history of negative reviews, mainly speaking about the owner, but i disregarded them as it seemed much of it had to do with getting scrubs shipped to the store and I didn't intend on doing that. Also noticed that many of the replies back to these types of comments were almost backhanded and very passive aggressive. In hindsight, it was a big mistake to ignore. Being new to the medical field, I had never really worn scrubs so felt I had to try some on in person before ordering more online. I thought what better than supporting a small local business! I went and tried on a few pairs and ended up buying them. After removing tags and putting them through the wash, I noticed that one of the pairs didn't fit like I remembered. Seeing on the receipt I saw that it said no returns after removing tags but I felt I might as well try, so I brought them back within a week of buying them. I walked in and who I assumed to be the owner immediately acknowledged me when I came back and I was completely honest with my situation. I explained that I tried them on in the store, took them home and washed them, and then realized that one pair didn't fit how I liked. I reiterated how I knew they're technically out of policy but I didn't wear them to work or anything. Despite this, he said that returning them wouldn't be a problem. Knowing he was making an exception for me, I was not planning to buy another pair of scrubs to replace those, but even a 2nd pair just because I know it was going to inconvenience him to have to sell my returned pair as "used" or "clearanced". After about 5 minutes of browsing, he comes back up to me and basically changed his mind. After asking me if i said that I washed them and I again confirmed that I did, he said said he could not take them back. After sharing some light humor before, I actually thought he was joking for a second. But no, he reiterated that he could not take the return because he sells "high quality products" there (whatever that means). Instead, he added 5% off to the 10% discount I already get for giving my email address. What does that equate to for the average pair of scrubs? about $3. That's all a customer is worth to him. At that point, I bought a pair anyways because I was in need of at least 1 extra for the next day, but I will not be returning. I take full responsibility for breaking policy and would have completely understood if he told me immediately that he would not accept the return. I probably would have even been appreciative of the additional 5% discount if that was what he said right off of the interaction. But to let me browse around for 5 minutes and then change your mind? I don't understand that. And to do that and then basically tell me my inconvenience is only worth about $5? I am honestly glad that he made it very clear not taking back 1 pair of scrubs was worth throwing away years of future business with a young veterinary student who will live in scrubs for the rest of his career. To me that's just a really foolish way to run a business, and I felt that any future inconveniences would have been handled the same. I know profits can be tight in small businesses, but this situation could have been handled so much better in almost every way. Even without all the issues that took place, this location has very limited selection for men anyways. I mean if I wanted to go TO the store to make a special order online, I would just skip the middle man and order them myself! the whole point of going to the store is to try things on in store! Even though Figs is online only, their quality is way better than anything here for around the same price and their sizing measurements are really accurate. I hate to talk like this about small businesses as their presence is ever-diminishing in the area, but after how I was treated I recommend staying far away from Hamilton Scrubs and Uniforms, because they do not have your back. It is very clear that it is an ownership issue."
"Excellent scrubs place to go buy scrubs. Steve is very approachable to people with all different personalities. Just be approachable to him and he will assist you to the best of his abilities. His staff are also very exceptional and they will give you the best feedback on anything that you try on. The more you visit the facility, the more well known you will be to this facility, and the more they will be able to help you out. I highly recommend anyone living locally to visit this facility."
"So I went there a few times. The owner of all people is always there he’s super pleasant and always friendly. I put in an order and there was a mistake on it. Probably my fault, a miscommunication. No biggie. E-mailed him back and let him know. Got an e-mail right away. Said he would correct it immediately. He was working in the back I could hear the sewing machine going in between helping customers. What owner does that?! He also gave me a 10% discount. The scrub tops I wanted were back ordered everywhere. Said he would have them in shortly. Now I haven’t received them yet but what owner runs around doing all of that? I literally cross the bridge to go into NJ to go there because of the amount of high end product he has and because of how friendly he is. These negative reviews just blow my mind. He responds to all of them in a timely matter and some of these things are not his fault. This is why I got out of retail too many catty women looking for a problem when there isn’t one. Things that are out of his control but he’s doing his best by communicating to his customers in a timely manner. Love supporting small business and this one has a nice owner. Poor reviews over stupid stuff hurt small businesses. I will be back just for the fact he has a ton of high quality stuff and he is so nice. Not to mention it was cheaper then it was online and he is saying he can get it to me sooner. Worth the 20 minute drive"
"I’m a returning customer. The level of customer service at this business is exceptional. Staffs will do everything they can to help you find exactly the style, or color of uniform you are looking for among the verities of uniforms they have. What I really love about this business is that if you can not find what you are looking for in store, they can order it for you directly from the supplier; and it will arrive on time. In all, I had a great experience shopping at Hamilton scrubs."
