"I just saw the tunnels from the roadside today on Route 46. Is there a way to get to these ???"
"There might've been a trailhead or parking because it is a distinguished trail with no signs of privet property but I parked a little south and walked about half mile to the tunnels. I did not have proper footwear to explore further, but it's a sick place for pictures. Be smart and don't ruin this spot for everyone else"
"Holy cow! This was quite the adventure. I'm grateful for the reviews posted by others, my wife and I came prepared: hard hats, headlamps, flashlights, rubber boots, and emergency response available via trusted friends with a given time limit. Cave-ins are a major concern here so do not enter unless you're prepared, but wow what an awesome experience! Check out the video my wife made after we explored both tunnels, she also provides details on the history of these Manunka Chunk Tunnels."
"There are a couple of options I suggest to get to the tunnels: - The easiest access is from the east side of the US-46 in Knowlton Township, just north of Orchard Ave. You'll see a narrow driveway leading up the embankment - you shouldn't actually drive up here as it's private property but you could park somewhere in the township and walk up the lane. When you reach the track that runs along the rail corridor, turn right and the tunnels are a 5 minute walk away. - If you don't mind a longer but pleasant hike, park at the corner of US-46 and Ramseyburg Rd (there's space on the shoulder for a couple of cars). It's pretty easy to see the track leading upwards along the rail corridor. It's about a 1.3 mile / 30 minute walk along this track to the tunnels. Unless you have a flashlight & waterproof clothes you won't be able to get too far up the tunnels but they're a pretty awesome thing to see regardless."
