About the Business
Welcome to Port Murray Park, a premier destination nestled along the historic Morris Canal Greenway in Mansfield Township, New Jersey. Located at 21 Hoffman Road, this scenic park offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore a significant section of the historic Morris Canal, a marvel of 19th-century engineering. Spanning 102 miles from the Delaware River to the Hudson River, the canal overcame an impressive elevation of 914 feet with 23 locks and 23 inclined planes, earning it the nickname "Mountain Climbing Canal."
At Port Murray Park, you can stroll along the towpath once traversed by mules pulling canal boats, and marvel at portions of the canal that still hold water today. This tranquil park is also home to remnants of the early 20th-century trolley line constructed by the Easton-Washington Traction Company, which connected Phillipsburg to Port Murray, adding another layer of historical intrigue.
Covering over 189 acres, Port Murray Park features a diverse landscape of upland forests, wetlands, meadows, and a small tributary to the Musconetcong River, offering a haven for nature enthusiasts and history buffs alike. Managed by the County of Warren in collaboration with the Highlands Community Service Project, the New Jersey Youth Corps, the Metro Trails Hiking Group, the Warren County Parks Foundation, and the Morris Canal Committee, the park is a testament to community partnership and preservation.

Reviews
"Interesting history of Morris canal."
"Nice"
"Unfortunately trail is overgrown after steps (near private property signs on gravel road). Needs some maintenance. First part of the trail near Hoffman Road was mowed and an easy walk in the woods."
"Very nice walk. Grass trail is cut. Mostly down but really must walk back. About 1 1/2 miles. If going out through gate at west end gravel drive seems to be private in all directions. No signs east bound until you get over the old railroad bridge by the Auto salvage yard. Then it says private as you look back the way you came. Says to enter on Hoffman Road on that sign."
"Headtrail kiosk was empty and trail maintenance is needed, mowing. Very quiet and a great place to beat the heat."
