"The most recent reviews are correct!! The website photos are not current. It is in dire need of updating and simple cleaning. The women's bathroom had 4 stalls. One had no toilet paper, one was out of order, only one had a light (the handicap). I guess that is one way to cut downI on cleaning when only 2 stalls can be used, 1 if it's dark! Showers just gross. There was no paper towels. Garbage overflowing. So run down with many trashy seasonal trailers (there are a few nice ones). Nice pool. If you have your own bathroom, would not be bad, IF they charged about $25/night, not $40. Beautiful area for canoeing and hiking. It really is a waste of prime property. I even sent them an email, which I never do. If you call them, ask where the canteens and adult lounge are, they are on the site map...Stayed Sept 5, 2016."
"Worse campground ever. Actually just a place where migrant works stay between jobs I guess. Place is filthy. Bathrooms aren't useable. Loud rancor from the local idiots running amok thorough the place is normal. Lots of screams unattended kids running around. Add a few bears and you've got a real zoo. The other reviews with 1 star are correct. 5 star reviews are fakes. Stay far away unless you like camping in toilets. Real dive."
"My wife said that I should be brutally honest when rating this campground, so I will. First, we are not newbies at camping. We have spent over 200 nights in campgrounds in the past 3 years, so this was not our first trip, nor will it be our last. But it will be our last at Cedar Ridge Campground. For the pros, I must say that after 11PM, the campground was extremely quiet and stayed that way until around 8AM. No highway noise, no trains, no loud music, no parties. The swimming pool looked nice but we didn’t use it. And the site where we were was quite large and level. But unfortunately, that’s all the good. The cons are many so here are a few…the road into the campground is a mess. You can’t get there if you are traveling south on River Road due to the sharp turn, you MUST be northbound. Then the steep hill, then the sharp right turn at the top of the hill (don’t forget to sound your horn as the sign states), then down the other side, then the potholes, then past the disgusting dumpster/trash area and first bath house to the office. Since we didn’t opt for a sewer connection, we used the bath house once, and that was it. They were extremely dirty; no, gross would be a better description. We don’t think they had been cleaned in ages. The pavilions were falling apart, the lake was covered in green algae, cobwebs everywhere on the buildings, and some of the trees near our site had vines growing on them, which turned out to be poison ivy. During our stay, we saw no maintenance being done. It is a shame, as with some hard work and investing some money, one day this could be a nice campground."
"Now that this campground is under new management it really has improved from some of the comments that I've seen and heard. The place is being cleaned, it has a new pool, and everyday I saw them doing things to improve the scenery, and the pool parties and get togethers are great! So for anyone that likes to rough it a little...Give it a try I think you will like the changes!"
"Not really a campground, but a salvage yard cleaned up enough to put tents and trailers. Dirty, litter in the sites, rusted piles of crap everywhere else. All the facilities are old and gross. Proprietors are crabby and seem to hate owning a campground you can tell it used to be nice, 30+ years ago. If you want quiet, clean, outdoor experience, try someplace else. Oh yea, really expensive too."
