HOMEBANK

"It has been almost a yeah and a half since we had a terrible experience with Home Bank. I went to them with the intention of buying a certain house and I wanted to tell them everything about this house. They didn’t care about these details at the time. We sat down to what I believe was 3 or 4 times about financing and we had no problems. Thirteen days before closing I was emailed about the house and that they had a problem about the basement walls. The home inspector said it was fine but that wasn’t good enough for the bank. So I had to call someone to look at the house for over $100. They gave me a quote of $12,000 to $25,000. I called another concrete correction company and told them what the bank wanted and they were confused with what HOMEBANK wanted and said they couldn’t help us. After we talked to home bank again they wanted us to pay for the “cracked” wall to be fixed and than they would finance us and we still had to have 20% down. If I had the money for all the that why would I need them for?!!! They were very afraid and had no logic. It was such a bad experience and it wasn’t like I was a negligent kid. I am a 40 yr old who has the average credit score from the big 3 of 807. We went to another bank who had no problem with the wall and didn’t think twice about it. Homebank’s issue with the house hasn’t been a problem and I had my contractor friend look at it after we bought the house and he said it happened because of settling and it had nothing to do with any stress towards the house. It was literally a quarter of an inch crack that they had a problem with and I was advised to fill it with something that cost under $15 (concrete crack filler). The whole HOMEBANK experience was such a headache for me. I told them everything in the beginning and they did not care to listen and than they act like I was at fault. My impression was that they acted like I had lied to them when I had nothing to hide. I would not recommend HomeBank to buy a house, their loan officer was not helpful and clueless at times."
