Led by County Collector Lisa Marschel, our office offers a range of services including the collection of real estate and personal property taxes. We provide multiple payment options to ensure flexibility and ease, including in-person payments by cash, check, or card, as well as online payments via debit/credit card or e-check. Please note that payments made online or by phone are subject to a convenience fee, which is not charged or received by our office.

For those visiting us in person, our office remains open through lunch hours, and we are dedicated to assisting you with any queries or tax-related needs. Alternatively, utilize our secure drop box located at the East door facing Third Street for submitting payments at your convenience. We check the drop box multiple times daily and will mail a receipt for any payments received.

Understanding the complexities of property taxes, we're here to guide you. Real estate taxes are a lien on the property, and new owners assume responsibility for any unpaid taxes. For those interested in property auctions, our annual Tax Certificate Sale takes place on the fourth Monday in August. Pre-registration is required and begins a week prior to the sale.

For personal property taxes, these are assessed on January 1st each year. Please be aware that taxes must be settled before vehicle license plates can be issued or renewed. Our office collaborates with the Missouri Department of Motor Vehicles to streamline this process, allowing you to renew your vehicle licenses online.
