"Local legend has Dan Tucker as a man that African American slaves made a song about because of his kindness to them. Once you have parked near the historic market, getting to the actual grave entails a hike of approximately half a mile through the woods. As you near the grave, water lapping against the shore from Lake Russell can be heard. From the gravesite, a peninsula is revealed. Dan Tucker's grave gives way to a view on the lake on three of the land's sides."
