"My mom’s name was Judi Weydert. She was “treated” by Dr. Hillard Salas at Finley Hospital in Dubuque. If you would like to visit her she currently resides at St. John’s the Baptist Cemetery in Centralia, IA…"
"If I could I’d give negative stars. Went in last night to be checked for a heart attack. The nurse came in and put the needle in for an IV (even though they neglected to give me an actual IV) and used it to take blood. After taking blood he injected me with something with no warning or explanation (I have my husband as a witness) and then left. I was never given a call light and no nurses or doctor ever came back in to check on me until the doctor came back in to tell me they were sending me home. They sent me home and I almost ended up back in the hospital after having three seizures and a hemiplegic migraine so I literally thought I was having a stroke. These are conditions that have been under control for years, yet being in this hospital caused awful health problems. When I called to find out what it was that they injected me with, the nurse tried to tell me I was not given anything except saline even though that’s an outright lie because they have to give you stuff to do a CT. She then told me she “doesn’t have time to deal with me” and hung up. I was mostly understanding until this nurse acted like this. I will be putting in a complaint with the department of health and will be talking to my lawyer about filing for malpractice. I’ll literally die before I go back to this hospital."
"If I could give a 0* I would. Brought my husband for right side abdominal pain they didn't even listen to him, didn't try to make him comfortable, didn't even offer him a blanket after making him get into a gown. Didn't run any other tests besides blood work, and since his white cell count was normal they sent us home. No answers just an I don't know. Complete waste of time. Not to mention he hasn't slept because he's in so much pain. So we go home and he's still in pain. I wouldn't bring a dying stray cat to this hospital."
"Very late night visit. Patient seen very quickly, procedure was administered quickly, and a follow up was scheduled within 8 hours. Skilled, knowledgeable staff. And very competent doctors. Hope to never need to visit again, but would definitely choose this facility if the need arose."
"While I have not needed the ER at Finley, I have used many imaging and physician services. Much of my care still comes from Northwestern Memorial, but I have been very pleasantly surprised with the quality of care, depth of questioning, and the patient approach I have received from staff, nurses and physicians. I am much less nervous living out here now. Thank you Finley."
