"This company and its people are AMAZING. Top to bottom, start to finish. This is a bit of a lengthy read, but I encourage you to read it. I had a very unique job that needed to be done at our home. We have an historic home with an historic rock retaining wall. The home and the wall were built in 1933 by a gangster (one of Al Capone’s men). The wall used to be 8 feet high for privacy. But subsequent owners, over the years, tore it down to where it was anywhere from 18 inches high to 4 feet high in some places. We have three dogs that were always hopping over the short wall. We needed to build it back up. But we wanted to keep with tradition and build it in the same style and with the same material to make the wall match and look good. The problem is that the stone used in 1933 came from a St. Louis quarry which had closed in the early 60’s. The first FIVE contractors I called flat out rejected me and refused to even look at the job. Then I finally got a hold of Matthew at Bright-Mann. He said he would come out and look at the wall in about a week. He came out the next day. He then said he would take on the job (for a very reasonable price) and we would be on the list, about a month out. Well, come on folks, we all know that when a contractor tells us we are “a month out” it really means 3 - 6 months out. But, no! LESS than a month later, in the dead of winter, his guys started on our wall! Matthew kept me up to date and informed every step of the way. His office assistant, Marlo, is just about one of the sweetest people you could ever meet and made the contract side of things very easy. The there are the workers themselves. Matt (different Matt than the owner) has worked for the company for 20 years—and you can tell. I watched him one afternoon working on our wall. He was an artist. He was taking big boulders, breaking them up carefully and artistically, and fitting them into the wall like puzzle pieces. You just can’t get that kind of quality everywhere. They paid attention to every detail and asked questions along the way to make sure I was satisfied. They started the job in early January and finished by late January, despite a LOT of inclement weather. This company and this team is A++ and 5-Star all the way.
