Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center Emergency Room

"I went in around 3-4 AM with a migraine on 4/26/23 that had lasted almost 5 days. The nurses were nice but when I met the doctor he was extremely rude and made it clear that he didn’t care. I was given 3 shots to help with the pain, by the nurses. The doctor came back about 5-10 minutes later and asked if that helped and if I was ready to be discharged. I told him that I would like to try to use the restroom, to see if my head would start throbbing again once I tried to walk and I’d let him know how I felt when I got back. I used the restroom, which couldn’t have taken more than 5 minutes, and he had already had me discharged before I was even back. He did not listen to me whatsoever, completely disregarded my pain, feelings, and opinions. Don’t go here if you actually want help. Also, they sent me a bill for over a $1,000, for nothing honestly because I went home still in pain."

"Great care, cool doctors that got straight to the point. No COVID tests even though me and my wife both had a viral respiratory infection. They were understanding and didn't cram COVID down our throats like everywhere else. Great service and nice nurses. Funny doctors. No waist on time to help us out either. Highly recommend."

"This is the best er visit we've ever had. They're very friendly, clean and helpful. Our visit only took us 2 hours and 10 minutes. Within the first 45 mins to an hour we had, iv started, doctor came in to assist the problem and ct scan done. Once scans was ready the doctor came in had everything ready for us to go home. When we were leaving every employee we walked by told us feel better and have a good day. This will be our er of choice from now on."

"Dr. Zeimer is VERY rude and unprofessional. I took my mother in this evening because she’s been very sick. The nurse who took her vital told her she had a low grade fever of 99.9 and my mom was relaying this message to “doctor” Zeimer and he said “that’s not a real fever. That’s a made up number. Low grade fevers aren’t real” and she said that’s what your nurse told me so I don’t know what you want me to say. He said “yeah I know I’m yelling through you to her”. She was in a lot of pain and wasn’t trying to joke around. He checked her heart rate and NEVER came back in the room. She got an X-ray and they sent her home without the “doctor” ever going over the X-ray with her. He is a joke of a doctor and deserves to be reprimanded."

"Worst experience EVER!!!! Sat in the room for over a half hour til ANYONE came in. The 70+ DR walked in after my daughter was sent there with a possible concussion. He never even asked where she hit her head!!! He asked her a couple questions, looked at her eyes and told us to go home. No tests, no things to look for, no discharge papers. He and the “nurse” just walked out of the room with no further instructions and no one else ever came in. Had to go to her Primary to get further instructions."
