"Never have used Polk Veterinarian and I needed my female dog Honey spayed, I called and asked several questions about the process and cost. I had all questions answered in depth and set an appointment. The front desk attendant was nothing short of amazing. I'm disabled so she gave me a window period to accommodate my family's work schedule. She came from behind the desk and sat down with us, to gain Honey's trust eventhough she was making a low growl. I was encouraged to call whenever I felt to check on on her, I was also informed that I could let her stay an extra day to make things easier for me. and my family. I was felt very at ease and was pleased with everything that was done to care for her and she also received her rabies shot and was treated for fleas and ticks.I inquired on treatment for my other dogs and was given the cost for them as well. I will definitely continue to be a customer of theirs."

"I cannot say enough good about Polk Vet Care. My pup was in a fight on Wednesday and showed progressive signs of infection, including swelling in his legs, which kept him from being able to walk. I called them Friday morning, they didn’t have any appointments available but she told me to bring him and drop him off; they would work him in between appointments. They did just that!! They got him all cleaned up and got him some meds. He was home by 2:45 that same day and getting back to himself. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such great care of our baby!"

"They say they become a veterinarians because they like animals and want to help them . Yet you call about getting a prescription of antibiotics for a dog with a abscessed tooth that want let you look in his mouth and they say the only way they will help is to set a appointment and bring the dog in to be checked. So they can get more of your money because they like it better than helping animals. Never heard of a dog dying from a low grade antibiotic. So take your animals to someone who really cares about animals."

"After having some bad experiences with the other local vets, we wanted to see how the experience with Dr. Hughes would be. Now, he's our regular veterinarian and I've always been pleased with the care our animals have received and the service from his staff. Some of the negative reviews on here are unfair, and I just want to throw my opinion on here that I trust them completely with the care of our animals and you should also."

"My first time visiting Dr. Hughes and Polk Veterinary Care was an emergency situation with my Lab mix, Sam. At the age of 12, he experienced multiple seizures over a 2 day period. Monday morning I just showed up and told them my situation. I was treated like family and Sam was seen immediately, diagnosed and prescribed medication. The exam was thorough and Dr. Hughes was detailed in his explanation of possibilities. I was very pleased with the service and hospitality of Polk Veterinary Care, LLC."
