Smithton Park Pond

"I really like this place for fishing and it's nice the paths are paved. We caught 3 fish and threw them back. They'll let you take them and that's part of the problem I have with giving a higher rating, people are emptying the pond of fish with their catches. They need to restock it, as there arent a lot of fish, and it might need to get dredged for branches. We lost a few lures in deep spots. You can catch bass and bluegill here with some patience."

"Nice place for a picnic. Nice little po d with fish and turtles. Also has a very nice walking trail."

"Great fishing spot. I consistently catch bluegill, bass and catfish. Best time is early morning or late evening for catfish. The bass, crappie and bluegill will bite all day and night."

"This is a very nice Municipal space Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation would be very proud the local mayor is probably proud. It is a great recreational space. The pond is well-groomed clean perhaps to clean I saw no evidence of fish, there were some turtles. Great place to stand around and enjoy nature and do some Recreation. But I do not think it is a great fishing spot. I did not see minnows in the shallows which to me is both a biology major and a fisherman is a Telltale sign that the water quality may not be all that's should be. Perhaps at some point it was a good fishing site. But maybe it has been fished out. Great Sports fields and a wonderful place for families to hang out."
