"We had to leave half our stuff behind because the lady in Fort madison said our carry on cannot be no bigger then paper size 8x11 and luggage had to be the size as a diaper bag there was 12 of us and we needed it checked in, she said we couldn't take it and we left most our stuff in the car some of us only had one outfit for a 14 day trip and 4 days on the train back and forth, so we bough luggage in California and had to buy everything for the kids and babies as well, on the way back we had no problem in los angeles it went so smooth."
"What brilliant person moves the main train depot from Burlington, Iowa to Fort Madison when they don’t even have a car rental business in town! Bare bones to say the least and if you don’t have a friend in town with wheels you are out of luck. SMH"
"Fantastic, quiet town along the mighty Mississippi River. The station boasts as a great vantage point to watch trains along the busy BNSF mainline while also acting a great vantage point for boat watching."
"Nice clean, comfortable, safe station. Attendant was very nice, notified is of train delay and call me when it is finally on its way from Chicago. If I hadn't been there before, though it might have been confusing to find because of the new building construction."
