"Well, my SUV was puttering and shaking and he swore I needed 4 timing chains which was a $2,000 job, so, I asked him to please check all the possible small or cheaper possibilities that could cause this same or similar car reaction before jumping into such a big and expensive job. He agreed and reassured me that he would thoroughly check everything out before he went forward with the "big" job. He did the timing chain job and I made it no further then the highway from Stewart repair and my SUV went right back to the same symptoms!!!! I took it back and he insisted it was just an O2 sensor. I paid another $200ish for that job and yet again, my SUV was NOT fixed. I took it to another mechanic shop out of town and they called me within 1 hour... and had my SUV fixed!!! My spark plugs were bad, 2 of them were cracked and didn't even match the engine model. SO, ALL I NEEDED WAS A TUNE UP! I got charged for 1 hour of labor and price of spark plugs..a total of $300. It hasn't shook and puttered ever since. I was furious that he promised to check everything and said he did, but ultimately all I needed was a tune up??? And problem was solved, smh. Junior said he checked everything, but as a mechanic, wouldn't 1 of the first problems you check be, the easier, less expensive jobs??? Like, spark plugs ??? A total of $2,200 for him to have not ever fixed the problem. I'll never go back there."
"Best mechanic in Fort Madison. finds out what is wrong and fixes it on time with your appointment. Does great job. You can ask JR. other questions and he will evaluate and gives you a quote, because I have him do the work there is no fee. The work is done right the first time his shop is great and I highly recommend them."
