Established under Chapter 35B of the Code of Iowa, our mission is to provide comprehensive assistance to veterans, their spouses, and dependent children. We offer monetary relief to indigent veterans to help cover essential expenses such as rent, utilities, clothing, medical treatment, food, and funerals.

Our services extend beyond financial assistance. We guide veterans and their dependents in filing for VA pensions and compensation, applying for admission to the Iowa Veterans Home, and accessing services from VA Hospitals. Additionally, we assist veterans in obtaining copies of military discharges and records, acquiring military medals or awards, applying for education benefits, securing headstones for deceased veterans, applying for home loans, and enrolling in GI Insurance.
