"Very poor fishing experience. Not one bite."
"Now this place was impressive. Having never before been here I was pleased with my first experience here. I drove down from Dubuque this day. I thought I was taking a short cut to it off 325th street. At bottom of hill felt like I was driving on someone's property. The road is that close. And narrow. But well maintained. Better than most gravel roads I've been on recently. Upon finding the parking area, a sign greets you by saying "trout area". You can park there I suppose but I continued onto the much larger lot. A local was there fishing. He told me he lives nearby and told me this is best stream to catch Brown trout and Rainbow trout. He was also surprised to see me as he remarked that he never sees anyone else out there, especially on a Monday. Trails wind all over. I grabbed my day pack and began to explore. I'm told this place is over 700 acres and trout are especially exceptional here. I went only a few miles but experienced a fine fall day in NE Jackson County. This place is just 5 miles from Bellevue, Iowa. Quiet, peaceful and a great place to fish. In my opinion of course. I'll have to come back again. I didn't see any bathrooms or playground stuff. No signs about dogs allowed out there. But I imagine they would be as hunting is permitted in certain areas. Be mindful of the season of course. Out in the middle of nowhere. And fishing at its best."
"Fishing is great! I love this place. Reminds me of the stream and river spots I go to in my home state of Colorado. Well stocked and maintained. DNR takes great care of this place."
"Ejoyed several great hours of trout fishing along this creek! Rainbows, and browns surrounded by serene woods and rolling landscapes..A near perfect outing, with plenty of action!"
"Great trout fishing stream"
