"Hired James to Prep and Paint my house at a quoted price of $6k on a house I was renovating. Part of the agreement was that my job would have priority and that he would clean the work site at the end of each day. Him and his crew would show up late every day, take long breaks, and leave early every day. My surveillance cameras recorded his coming and goings and he worked only 4 hours a day. He also had various reasons why he couldn't come to work such as his HOA meeting, court cases he was involved with, and meetings with his lawyer. Because he was moving so slow, my wife and I had to start painting at night having to fix a lot of mistakes he made. We got to a point to where I realized I was going to have to paint behind him on a nightly basis so I told him to just worry about prepping the areas, I would paint, and I would pay him the full $6 amount. He got upset and quit the job. Threatened to sue me and put a lien on my house. Luckily, I saved all text messages, took videos of his horrible work and the mess he left in my house. Apparently, the fact that he is having to deal with lawyers and the court, this is something he does to others on a regular basis.
