"We were in and out in less than 10 mins and the buildings were beautiful."
"I just called asking what I can bring to a jury summon, and the lady who answered was the nicest and most helpful government worker I have encountered in my 70 years. She had a sweet, soothing voice and answered all my questions."
"I went in their the first time, to ask about how to sue someone for harassment issue I had a young lady act like she didn’t know what I was talking about, I ask her a simple question."
"The ladies that work here that deal with birth certificates, etc., either need to sit down with HR and be reeducated or they need to be replaced. I understand getting exposed to people coming in not having paperwork they need, or getting upset because they can’t get what they want can set the tone for future encounters. Unfortunately, it should not be that way, and they should deal with each person on an individual basis. Got my sons names changed and was trying to get copies of the birth certificate so I could send in and get that changed also. First time they lied and told me that I needed to have custody papers, which doesn’t exist in Illinois anymore, or guardianship papers, which will only apply if he was over 18, and in some kind of situation like an accident. She also told me that I should not have been able to get the name changed If I was not on the birth certificate, even though I have custody, my son lives with me, and I am currently receiving child support from his mother. The next time, they tell me that I need to have paperwork saying he lives with me. Finally, after several failed attempts they apparently only needed acknowledgment of paternity paperwork to give me his birth certificate. This is paperwork that I had picked up and had certified, and was taking with me when I was coming back. The lady had the nerve to tell me, “I did all the legwork” after I had been back-and-forth between the circuit clerk and county clerk four times. They didn’t even know what information they required to release it. Tremendous waste of time, energy, and resources for people that don’t even know how to do their own job and are just upset when a father does the right thing."
"Not so much the people, the security was so nice and willing to help me. But the building does not have disability access.. no elevator or anything.. I have a heart condition which makes it very hard to go up and down steps.. I couldn’t make it up to do what I needed to do, I felt so helpless I was crying at the security table.. it’s not one’s fault who works there obviously, but just wanted to point out the flaw incase you’re disabled and need to go there. Try calling them first! And tell them you’re disabled.. also, push 3 when you call. Cause they won’t return phone calls. I’ve called 8 times since Monday.."
