"It's beautiful cemetery! I know they went through some hard times but people got to realize they have four people doing the grounds and it's 139 acres! I think they do a pretty good job for what they can. I myself got four generations of family buried there and I myself bought lots for me and my wife. On a side note the cemetery does accept volunteers if you think it looks that bad. Thanks in advance"
"Horrible grounds keeping. We took flowers up for my grandma, the weeds around her tombstone were 2-3 feet high. Such a disgrace, I could maybe understand if it were July/Aug., but for Memorial Day- that’s absolutely uncalled for. We even called the office to complain and were given 1 excuse after another. They need to be reported."
"It is a very large and nice cemetery situated above Dubuque, providing fantastic views of downtown & the Mississippi river. The road leading to it is uphill and winding. I didn't really find any parking as I drove through the grounds, just a few little pull offs to the side of the road. Grounds were kept well. Peaceful. Lots of American flags were flying when we visited, right after Memorial Day. If you deem this review helpful, please give it a like. Thank you."
"It is a beautiful old cemetery where my family has a sectioned off family-plot. I have visited a handful of times but was disappointed this last time to see that the largest family monument lost its top. I know these things happen, but I would have liked to been able to find an office or someone to help me so that I might give my information in case the stone further deteroriates, then they may contact me. It was also a little more difficult to navigate- I think some of the markers pointing the way have disappeared or writing has worn away. Still, a loving resting place and always quiet and peaceful to visit."
"I recently visited Linwood Cemetery and was pleasantly surprised with the service I received. First I stopped at the office where I was kindly greeted by two young women who helped me by mapping out where all my family was interred. They took the time to explain to me not only where my family was at, but if they had tombstones or not. From the office I began my adventure into the cemetery. I was very impressed with the amount of unique statues and stones I saw. Using the map I received from the office I was able to locate all but one of the grave sites. I was approached by a large gentleman on a motor cart who introduced himself as the grounds manager and asked if he could assist me. I showed him the map, and he pointed me right to the site. I thanked him for his assistance. He said if I needed anything else to let him know. I've been to cemeteries all over the area doing my family tree and have never received the assistance I have at Linwood. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! A++++++"
