Southern Retreat RV Park 7445 Blythe Island Highway, Brunswick, GA 31523

"Google reviews is glitched and thinks this is a hotel.... I have not actually stayed in the rv park but I visit it frequently because I live on an adjacent island. The park has a restaurant that I go to for breakfast. It is very clean. The music tends to be about the same volume as a conversation in the morning (personally this is too loud for me in the morning). The staff are incredibly friendly. They have a full bar (I do not drink). I have stayed at rv parks, none of them have been this clean or friendly."

"First chance I got to review. Stayed there 3 different times during last winter. Perfect central location for winter dirt track races. GIS, Screven,Bubba, Altec,Volusia accessable within 2hrs. Very friendly staff. Jo, Chelsea, and owner Mario real nice down to earth people! Great food and drinks at the on site restaurant. Always something fun going on at the bar/restaurant. Many permanent locals very friendly and glad to help with info about attractions and things to do. I read some of the negative reviews and have no words for the whiners! If your looking for a great place to stay, overnight or long term this is it! I personally can't wait to get back there in January!"

"Staff was nice at the desk. The on-site restaurant Fish Tales is mediocre at best, lots of "refried" again foods. The sites are extremely close, water pressure low and no personal camp fires. We managed until the rock concert at 7pm at the restaurant, that was ridiculously loud and went until midnight, past the 10pm quiet hours. There is no Security or night time number to call-I left messages, texted and emailed for help with this. Every drum solo shook our camper. If I'd known I could have brought earplugs. No one from Southern Retreat has called us. Sadly, we have a paid spot for a few days in Nov 2024, and they do not give refunds. Good Sam gives them high marks, but doubt if they ever stayed there."

"Stood overnight, I don’t know how they got their ratings from Good Sam but it’s way over rated. We had a pull thru site, with 20 feet of sewer hose ,it couldn’t reach. So we didn’t use the sewer. Also Water pressure was so low, I couldn’t take a shower. No cement or crushed stone, sitting on grass and dirt. Lastly it was the smallest site we were ever on. Will not ever return!!!!! I’m not sure who Rick is but we were told he couldn’t be bothered, he was in a bad mood."

"We wondered around until we found it not knowing it had been bought out. The service was great but the menu was completely different! The menu planner tried to offer some new items but took the cheap route and spoiled it. Keep trying."
