"NO good service after the sale. You're their VIP until closing day. They will lie like dogs and Destiny Industries of Moultrie, whose homes they also sell here, are a nightmare to deal with too. Done filed 2 complaints to the state over the leaking roof on our brand new Destiny home..took us over 2 years to finally get them to fix it right. Get any "warranty" they say is on your home in WRITING before you close if you buy here. Between this dealer, the manufacturer, and the installation team, any problems you have with the home will be blamed on each other while you are the one stuck with the payments on a pink elephant. Our ordeal with these people is absolutely too much to put into words in a short review here. Just don't let the excitement of getting a new home blind you to their scamming techniques. UPDATE: This Destiny Timberline Elite Home is, expectedly, literally falling apart. A little over 7 years old now, the siding is buckling, and there are gaps where it wasn't even installed right to begin with. We've had electrical problems from loose outlets that should have never passed inspection when it was built. The breaker box inside is rusting. There are issues with the walls and ceilings cracking from day 1 and even the ceiling and wall cracks they came and "fixed" when we first moved in have came back even bigger than they originally were. The shingles look extremely tattered and worn for them to not be any older than they are. The front and back doors have never closed properly and have huge gaps that even weather stripping can't cover evenly because they weren't built right to start with. The carpet we tried to get them to straighten out when it was brand new has been separating and fraying for years because they did a rig job on it. The fireplace remains unsafe for use from rust and corrosion from the roof leaking thru the chimney when we first bought this thing and they wouldn't come fix the leaking until after we got HUD involved. None of the cabinetry, trims and molding in the entire house can stand to get even a few drops of water on it without bubbling up and practically disintegrating as if it is made of heavy cardboard. Imagine trying to mop and clean, you're ruining the house every time you mop near the baseboards.. guess what all of the window sills and door frames are built of the same heavy duty cardboard fake wood crap!! So even opening the windows for a few hours once in awhile has the window sills all blistered up and paint peeling off. Nothing to do about it short of redoing the entire home yourself using real wood which we THOUGHT this thing was built out of. I guess the only REAL WOOD was used to frame it up with. I HOPE. The entire bunch of greedy people involved in thIs industry pawning this crap off onto regular working people should be ashamed of themselves."
"It was good. I got pulled over in the parking lot and didn't go to jail. Always a great day"
"Horrible customer service, have called several times with issues of my home. I have been told on no less than 4 occasions that I would receive a phone call back with information and have yet to receive it. Been going on for 6 weeks now. My next step is to start showing up at their door step every day until I get answers. Do no recommend"
"Purchased a home in July 2018 with no financing and still in January 2019 do not have a MSO or title. We turned in the list of problems to be fix in October 2018 and still have not been done. We can't even get a call back from the Southern Homes of Statesboro people. Every time you call to check on thing it is always said let me call you back and again no one ever calls you back. It has been a total nightmare from the start. Will never send anyone to them. They are not even worth 1 star."
"We recently purchased our first home, and found a beautiful Clayton brand home at this dealership. We love our Clayton mobile home, but the customer service we have experienced from Southern Homes during installation of our home has made this process a nightmare. We purchased the home without financing, explaining that we were unfamiliar with the permitting and installation process, and we were reassured by our salesman that we would receive their help throughout. After the home was paid for, it was like pulling teeth to get any help from anyone at Southern Homes. It seemed impossible to even get a phone call returned. The house was not delivered when scheduled, was not set up when scheduled, and the contracting company that Southern Homes set us up with was also less than helpful. Every step of the installation process took longer than we were told, and it seemed to take longer simply because of their negligence and refusal to do what they said they would. After our home was finally installed, we had to wait 6 WEEKS for them to finish the drywall because they did not know what paint colors were used in the home. The drywall finisher they contracted for us was told to lie and say that his truck broke down to cover for the fact that they failed to go to Home Depot to buy our paint when they said they would. I was told that I was referred to as the "crazy lady" by the dealership manager. I guess it's "crazy" to inquire as to why it took them 6 weeks to have paint mixed at Home Depot. I would stay as far away from this company as possible. And definitely do everything you can to ensure they don't get full payment for your home until they've completed the work they promise to do. That being said, our Clayton home is beautiful and the manufacturer (who is not affiliated with Southern Homes) has been wonderful to work with."
