These rich environments support nearly 300 species of birds, 40 species of mammals, as well as numerous amphibians, reptiles, and fish.
Situated about 7 miles north of Eufaula, Alabama, along the scenic banks of the Chattahoochee River, Eufaula National Wildlife Refuge extends into both southeast Alabama and southwest Georgia. Established through the dedicated efforts of the local community and in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, our refuge plays a crucial role in providing essential habitats for wintering waterfowl, migratory birds, and resident species.
