"My family has a total of 3 burial plots at Lakewood Memory Gardens West. When the plots were purchased there was both a caretaker and the gates were locked each evening. In more recent years there is no longer a caretaker at the facility and the gates are not being closed at night. Over the past couple of years my family has personally had several flower arrangements stolen from the grave sites. Several other families have experienced similar expensive and disrespectful incidents which have been reported to both the police and cemetery management. These thefts of both arrangements and vases continue and have been recently publicized in the Chattanooga Times, but the cemetery's management has made no preventive actions to curtail these thefts. The cemetery's management at a minimum should close its gates at night and install cameras to deter this theft and vandalism. This company operates several locations in the Chattanooga vicinity and should be more diligent in guarding against such disrespectful acts of vandalism."

"I reached out to the office on January 26 after my visit to the cemetery & I have called 3 more times since The vases were stolen off of my grandparents graves. My grandfather was buried there 47 years ago & my grandmother 8 years ago. I spoke with Jacob & he took my information & then I spoke with Mina. Every phone call is they are "putting in a work order". I just want them replaced because it's lack of presence from employees for the reason we have so much theft in that cemetery. First flowers were getting taken & we asked for cameras or lights, something. Now the actual vases are getting taken. The cemetery charges $7500 for 2 plots, then $1600 to bury you, atleast $5000 for a nice headstone. The cemetery is not maintained, I buried my mother 2 years ago & everyone had to walk through knee-high grass. If you drive through the East & South cemeteries, they are meticulously maintained. The families who have loved ones buried at West just want the same as the other cemeteries. It's like once you pay, you are forgotten about. I have a friend who didn't even bury her mother next to her husband because of how the cemetery is cared for or lack there of. I have attached photos of ant hills next to headstones, full trash cans (always), tree limbs everywhere. Such a shame!!!"

"This company owns 3 cemeteries and will only rush to help if there is a possibility of getting more money. If you have paid in full they will try to say you owe more. I’m still waiting for my dad’s headstone that was prepaid for. He died 8 months ago. They will also send salesmen out when you’re visiting graves. Grounds are horribly maintained."

"The cemetery is not at all being taken care of as it should be. Flowers are constantly being stolen!!! The fence was taken down and after years of locking the gate now all of a sudden it can’t be locked any longer??? Why is it too much trouble to do that??? We have requested for cameras to be put up to stop the thefts and vandalism and the fence put back but that doesn’t seem to be of much concern to the home office! It’s a shame as much money that is spent on our loved ones final resting place, this is the disrespect we get!"
