"Overpriced unprofessional funeral home! $2500 just to cremate my father is a rip off and I would not recommend this place. They avoid phone calls and have so much confusion going on in that place. Never again! Go to multicultural, they will take care of you and your loved ones."
"Working with George and his family was a godsend. We lost my mom recently very tragically and this was the first time having to deal with funeral arrangements for my siblings and I. George was empathetic from the beginning and came to pay his respect at my mom’s visiting as we were traveling back and forth from Rhode Island as Brockton was our hometown and wanted to make sure family was able to attend. He was attentive and made sure we asked all our questions and even when we had to make changes after settling on arrangements, there was no negativity. Gina was also very kind in the process of making sure we had everything we needed to present my mom during her wake. The entire process went smoothly and even during her wake, there were so many people who commented she looked like she was resting peacefully. The casket, the prayer cards, flower arrangements, funeral services, everything was done so beautifully. I highly recommend George Lopes to any and everyone. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts to the Lopes family."
"I recently had to make arrangements for my nephew's funeral, and I couldn't have been happier with the service we received at George Lopes Funeral Home. From the moment we walked in, the staff was kind, compassionate, and attentive to our needs. They listened to our wishes and helped us create a personalized service that truly honored my nephew's memory. Throughout the planning process, the team at George Lopes was always available to answer any questions we had and guide us through every step. They were patient and understanding during this difficult time and made sure that everything ran smoothly. On the day of the service, the funeral home looked beautiful and every detail was taken care of. The staff was professional, respectful, and truly went above and beyond to ensure that our family was comfortable and taken care of. The service was exactly what we wanted and it truly felt like a celebration of my nephew's life. Overall, I would highly recommend George Lopes Funeral Home to anyone in need of funeral services. Their caring and compassionate staff made a difficult time a little bit easier, and for that, we are truly grateful. Thank you, George Lopes Funeral Home, for helping us give my nephew the beautiful send-off h e deserved."
"I wish there was a ZERO star option. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone who had any hopes of dealing with a Compassionate or Professional funeral home or director!! George Lopes is one of the most condescending people I have ever met in my life. When we first met with Lopes it was less then 24 hours of my Step Fathers passing and he seemed genuine and empathetic. Little did my family and I know that as soon as the check was cashed a different man would emerge. They switched our casket without letting us know. They were rearranging the casket at the time of the viewing as we all looked on. We were given a date to receive the death certificates which has gone and passed. He completely blew passed the fact that a plaque/headstone was not included and it was something we needed to purchase on our own. Then to top it off he has his daughter working his office who doesn’t have the first clue on how to deal with grieving families or how to read a file. This is just my review on here but I will be reporting them to the BBB FCC and Attorney General. This is unacceptable and I’m absolutely DISGUSTED with this place. Luckily for me EVERY conversation was recorded as well as our meeting and all emails have been saved!!"
"If I could give this place less than one star I would. One of my dearest friends not only suffered the traumatic loss of her mother, but the lack of professionalism and blatant disrespect for the emotions and grief is unprecedented. At the wake service, the sound system was not checked and provided constant feedback that the Priest turned off the microphone. Speakers were forced to have to project their voice instead of speaking into the microphone because the feedback was not only distracting, but also echoed in your ears. The woman representing the funeral home referred to my friend by the WRONG name. Really? Cheryl????? Not only did the funeral home overcharged my friend for prayer cards for the guests, but did not provide them at the time of the wake. Guests left empty handed and the funeral home offered no apologies. But the kicker…the funeral home changed the time of the burial the following from 11am to 10am. When I arrived to support my friend at 9:30 am, it was pouring rain. There was no tent, no flowers and most of all, no urn with the ashes nor any representative from the funeral home. Several phone calls went unanswered. My friend was able to get in touch with the funeral home at 10:30. When the owner arrived, the hole in the ground was too small because the funeral home did not communicate with the cemetery people the size of the hole. The man at cemetery profusely apologized to me, but this was NOT his fault. Since the funeral home did not communicate the specifics of the hole, the cemetery worker needed to dig out the hole… all while the family was looking on sobbing. The funeral home did not arrange the flowers nicely… I dropped my umbrella and arranged them make sure they looked the best they could while the family watched. My friend and her family have been further traumatized by the inconsiderate lack of professionalism. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone."
