"My wife and I visited the tag department today to acquire a tag for our new vehicle bought out of state. I cannot say enough good things about Angel, the person who helped us with that transaction. She let us know that the unused taxes collected from the car dealership were being sent back to the dealership and that we could contact them for a refund. She helped us with the credit we had left on the tag purchased for our previous vehicle. She was very knowledgeable, efficient, and super friendly! It is rare to say that visiting a government office of any kind is a pleasure. Our experience today was a pleasure. Thank you, Angel!"
"Very efficiently and organized. Personnel were qualified and friendly. Did not take much time to renew my auto tags."
"I have attempted on multiple occasions to transfer registration of a vehicle to my name. I had a car gifted to me, and I brought the bill of sale, and proof of insurance and the inspection form by the sheriff deputy. I had a copy of my id and that if the one that gave me the car. I was told to surrender the tag. And because the former owner had lapsed his insurance, I got stuck with a fine. So, I go back with all the paperwork and money, and today I'm told I need owners signature to surrender the tag. What??? I was given a checklist with what I needed. Now after waiting again, I am told I need a signature to give them the tag. If I have a signed bill of sale, and proof of insurance and his and my id and the tag.. why ask now for something that could have been asked for then? And they wonder why people get so frustrated with them..."
"I'm disabled and asked the policeman sitting at the entrance for help putting on the temporary paper license tag and was told NO! It made me very upset. As citizens, we're told over and over, police are here to serve the public. It made me think that those individuals would not have a problem stopping me for an infraction but to get assistance in leaving the DMV, legally, with the correct tag on my vehicle, seemed to be too much to ask. On a whole, I commend and respect policeman for their careers but my encounter with those two individuals has me extremely disappointed to call them Alabama's Finest!!!"
"The most organized tag office I've ever seen in the last 50 years. In and out fast. Courteous, friendly staff. Recent updates have made service even better!"
