"I was charged $445.04 out-of-pocket for a routine annual wellness exam where I had no questions/concerns, no diagnosis, no consent for extra tests. It was preventative care and I'm young and healthy. Shouldn't it be free with insurance? I think the doctor ordered tests meant for older sicker individuals and then my insurance did not categorize it as preventative care. Yet both the doctor's office and the insurance company (UnitedHealthcare) pointed fingers at each other and refused to work with me so I wouldn't be charged $445.04 for a routine wellness exam without my consent. I tried to fight this for months."
