About the Business
Welcome to the Saint Anne Shrine, a cherished place of worship located at 818 Middle Street, Fall River, Massachusetts. As a vibrant center of faith and community, the Shrine offers a sacred space for prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal. Under the guidance of Father Edward Murphy, our dedicated chaplain, we invite you to participate in our upcoming Fall/Winter cycle of Healing Masses for 2024-2025.
Join us on Thursday evenings for a deeply moving liturgical experience, beginning with the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM, where the Sacrament of Reconciliation is available. The Mass, Healing Service, and Benediction with Exposition will follow at 6:30 PM. Please note the dates on your calendar and be part of this beautiful tradition. To ensure a meaningful experience for all, we kindly ask attendees to use alternating pews, as indicated by ribboned-off sections, allowing Fr. Murphy and his assistant to minister to everyone during the healing service.
Additionally, we are thrilled to celebrate the Dedication Anniversary of St. Anne’s with the theme "Bearer of the Covenant: St. Anne and the Eucharist" from July 17-25, 2024. Our community will come together for the Solemn Novena to our patroness, culminating in the Feast of Saints Anne and Joachim on July 26. This cherished event has united us in prayer, pilgrimage, and celebration for over 151 years.
The Novena to Good St. Anne will take place from Wednesday, July 17, to Thursday, July 25, featuring the Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 PM with Confessions available, Devotions and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3:00 PM, and the Solemn Mass of the Feast at 6:00 PM, followed by a procession, weather permitting.
We warmly invite everyone to be part of these enriching spiritual events. Come and experience the grace and community of the Saint Anne Shrine, where faith and tradition continue to thrive. "There is something unique downstairs in the chapel. I was praying and something zap me through my chest I felt it , my body was lit up of the likes of unknown present. It was all good. That feeling stayed with me for 7 days. Each day it got less that feeling that zap me. Any bad habits I had we're gone. I enjoyed it to the fullest. We all have some sort of bad habit, no one living is perfect."
"The bottom floor is the best pray to saints and statues. One problem there's a Stone from a church in Jerusalem. Which Jesus Christ was, you were able to touch the Stone. Many miracles there now they have the Stone in case they're glass Box. I think that's wrong. It has been there for years. No one's never touched it. I would put a camera there and keep it open to the public. You can. It was a bar in front of it to protect it. You can only get so close to it only if your hand could touch it. One thing about Fall River. It might be rough around the edges. But when it comes to religion, it's no one more faithful and honest Then this city.... Amen and God bless. It's from the church of Saint Anne. Goes back to fore centurys.."
"It is a very beautiful, reverent, and peaceful place of prayer. It was a wonderful experience. The people there were very gracious, kind and thoughtful. I am so glad that I was able to go there, and I hope to joyfully return again in the future. To all whom I met at the Gift Shop I want to thank you so much for your help, and your kindness. I assure you all of my prayers. May God bless you always."
"I grew up attending this church and school. Born at St. Anne's Hospital. We have very fond memories. My twin sister and I live in different parts of the US. It was great to go on our first trip back to New England in 30 years. We stopped in Fall River to see where we lived. Very sad at the condition of the Shrine, but we are contributing monthly to the preservation society. Too exquisite a building to not exist forever."
"A magnificent structure that stands as a true testament of Roman Catholicism. The building is in need of a lot of care. The St. Anne Preservation Society is working diligently to restore the grand edifice. They need our support in any way possible. Fall River will never see architecture like this again. It's more than a religious landmark, it's a regional one where people of any faith are welcome. It isn't the temple of my home parish, but it certainly feels like it is. It will feel that way for anyone who visits. Hopefully, with dedication from the local community and surrounding communities, this temple can be restored. In doing so, we'd be enhancing the structure's majesty and solidifying its stability for centuries to come."
