Reviews
"The service is good. It was easy to get everything done that I wanted to get done."
"If I was as rude as the dude at the counter was to me today I wouldn't have my job. Hire nice people for crying out loud!"
"The people working at Newburyport PO are some of the most rude and disrespectful people I have ever spoken to. If you have to ship a package, you're better off walking it to it's destination yourself."
"Today Tom went out of his way to go back to the post office to pick up my package that I missed yesterday. Greatly appreciated. Thank you tom!"
"I had the unfortunate opportunity to have dealt with Patricia at the Newburyport office on Pleasant street. She truly is the epitome of a poor customer service employee. In my years as a client to USPS I have not had this experience anywhere in the United States - and I have lived in many cities in this wonderful country. In the next few paragraphs I will provide details of the poor customer service I encountered. I arrived to the Newburyport USPS location trying to ship a couple of small boxes. It was brought to my attention - in the most patronizing way - that one of the boxes had a prepaid sticker on it for UPS. I kindly asked for assistance. First, I asked where I may be able to find a UPS location in the Newburyport area given that I am fairly new to this region. The attitude this individual exhibited was just something out of a horror movie - if rolling eyes could kill the atomic bombs dropped in Nagasaki and Hiroshima would look like child's play compared to this. Then, I proceeded to ask what my options were for shipping a small box. On a black and white screen display a few options were presented with different cost options. Given that most of the options were abbreviated I gently asked a few questions about the differences. I have a tendency to repeat things to myself to clarify. She interjected me twice and stated that I had interrupted her and pursued to charge me for an option that I really had no clear explanation what service I was paying for. At this point in time I was calm and relaxed and just puzzled by this thuggish treatment from what appeared to be as a very innocent looking individual (this is when I quickly realized that this was just really a reflection of Patricia's personality). I kindly asked for clarification and received a very patronizing response about Flat versus Parcel shipping (almost like she was talking to a toddler!). I am a customer who expects to be treated with respect and with the best customer service. I'm afraid that this experience really reflects poorly on USPS, and in particular the USPS office at Newburyport. It is really unfortunate because I have enjoyed my past experiences there when speaking to Kathy (one of the other employees at this location). Unfortunately, for Patricia, we live in a time where customer service is paramount for the success of a business and that any poor service (and by saying poor Im just being nice, this was in fact disgusting!) will be reported and read by many customers, and I do hope that management files this as one of the complaints for her performance review. I am a fair minded person who seeks no confrontation in life, but she gave me every reason to write this review!"
