"What a great experience!! Loved the museum and how upkept everything was especially for the ship being so old. It was a great point of view and we had a great young tour guide so knowledgeable and friendly- he did a great job!!"
"An excellent and unique ship, the USS Salem is the last surviving Des Moines class heavy cruiser, and the last heavy cruiser on the planet. While she is showing a bit of rust here and there, at over 70 years old she has greatly exceed her expected lifespan. A large portion of the ship is available to explore or view exhibit. There are a few places not currently open to the public that I would love to see, but that may need to wait for more restoration. Even if you don't visit, consider donation so that Sea Witch can get her next needed dry dock and be here for future generations."
"Really cool, having come from the uss Wisconsin, this really feels like a smaller Iowa. They were actively restoring parts of ship when I was there so i hope that means their gonna be able to keep the ship afloat for a long time. Also had some rooms with no lights that were fun to explore with a flashlight."
"Excellent experience...ship used in second world war....you get to know a lot about war ship in detail.Almost 6/7 floors...all things are preserved and you get the knowledge how all facilities were there."
"I definitely recommend a visit, the ship is really interesting with some great information displays about cruisers. The volunteers definitely make the experience though, everyone I spoke to was really friendly and answered all my questions"
