As part of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department's expansive network of over 2,300 acres of parkland, L Street Beach exemplifies our commitment to providing clean, green, safe, and accessible open spaces for everyone to enjoy.

Our department oversees a vast array of recreational facilities, including 217 city parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields, as well as historic cemeteries and the iconic Emerald Necklace. We are dedicated to maintaining over 125,000 trees and 35,000 street trees across the city, ensuring a lush and vibrant environment for all.

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we continue to engage the community through online Tree Removal and Parks and Recreation Commission hearings. This summer, we invite you to explore our complete schedule of free events and activities for all ages, including family favorite movies in your neighborhood parks and the lively Tito Puente Latin Music Series.

In collaboration with Roundhead Brewing Company and Fresh Food Generation, we proudly introduce Alianza, a unique traveling beer garden experience throughout Boston.
