Welcome to American Legion Playground, a vibrant community park located at 25 Glendon Street, Boston, Massachusetts 02128. Nestled in the heart of Boston, this playground is part of the city's extensive network of parks and green spaces dedicated to promoting clean, green, and safe environments for all residents and visitors.

Our mission is to maintain accessible open spaces within Boston's expansive 2,300 acres of park land, which includes 217 city parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields. As a cherished local spot, American Legion Playground offers a variety of recreational activities and serene areas perfect for families, individuals, and groups seeking outdoor enjoyment.

In collaboration with the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, we are proud to host a range of exciting events throughout the year. Enjoy free family-friendly movies in our neighborhood parks, and don't miss the lively Tito Puente Latin Music Series, which fills Boston parks with music in July and August. For those seeking more outdoor fun, explore our full schedule of free events and activities designed for all ages.

Additionally, experience Alianza, a unique traveling beer garden brought to you by Roundhead Brewing Company and Fresh Food Generation, in partnership with the City of Boston. This innovative initiative enhances the community spirit and offers a delightful experience for park visitors.

As part of Boston's commitment to preserving natural beauty, we also manage an impressive collection of 125,000 trees, including 35,000 street trees, and oversee three active cemeteries and 16 historic burying grounds.

Please note, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Tree Removal and Parks and Recreation Commission hearings are currently held online. We are dedicated to maintaining the health and safety of our community while ensuring the natural beauty of our city is preserved.
