As part of the Boston Parks and Recreation Department, Prescott Square is dedicated to providing clean, green, safe, and accessible open spaces for all to enjoy. Our mission extends across 2,300 acres of parkland throughout the city, encompassing 217 city parks, playgrounds, athletic fields, and much more.

Prescott Square is more than just a park; it's a community hub where nature and recreation come together. Whether you're looking to enjoy a leisurely stroll, a family picnic, or participate in one of our many free events and activities, there's something for everyone. This summer, don't miss the return of the Tito Puente Latin Music Series, offering six lively concerts in July and August. Movie nights under the stars are also a family favorite, providing entertainment in your neighborhood park.

In collaboration with Roundhead Brewing Company and Fresh Food Generation, we proudly introduce Alianza, the city's first traveling beer garden, bringing refreshing beverages and delicious food to our parks.

Prescott Square is part of the historic Emerald Necklace, a 1,100-acre chain of nine parks linked by parkways and waterways, offering a unique blend of natural beauty and historical significance. Our commitment to maintaining Boston's urban greenery includes the management of 125,000 trees and the stewardship of three active cemeteries and 16 historic burying grounds.

Due to ongoing health and safety measures, our Tree Removal and Parks and Recreation Commission hearings are currently held online. For those interested in tree-related matters, please note that we require a public hearing for the removal of healthy trees.
