About the Business
Welcome to St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church
Located at 15 Union Park Street, Boston, Massachusetts, St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church is a vibrant place of worship that has been sharing the Gospel of Christ in the Greater Boston area since 1922. Our church community invites you to experience and participate in God's love by offering ourselves to one another, fostering a spirit of unity and faith.
Our story is deeply rooted in history, with our beautiful and historic building originally constructed in 1862. It began as a Protestant community church, later serving as the Temple Ohabei Shalom, a Jewish Synagogue, from 1887 to 1921. In 1924, the Parish of St. John acquired this magnificent edifice, transforming it into the Greek Orthodox Church we cherish today.
We offer a variety of spiritual resources and opportunities for growth in faith. Explore our NEW Saint John the Baptist Podcast Page, featuring our most recent sermons, and visit our Online Chapel for daily readings, hymns, and a monthly calendar of saints and feasts.
Whether you are a long-time member or visiting for the first time, we warmly welcome you to join us in worship and community. Discover the rich traditions of our faith and the deep connections that unite us as followers of Christ.
