Church of the Advent
About the Business
Welcome to the Church of the Advent, a warm and welcoming community located at 30 Brimmer Street in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts. Established in 1844, our church is dedicated to bringing traditional Anglo-Catholic liturgical practices to life for all who seek a closer relationship with God.
At The Advent, we believe in the lifelong and ongoing pursuit of holiness, committing ourselves in heart, mind, and deed to living out the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Our supportive community fosters thoughtful faith through the formation of young children and families, challenging adult education programs, and dedicated service. We are proud to host hospitable coffee hours and the city’s longest-running free meal for those in need, reflecting our commitment to service and community.
We were the first church in Boston to eliminate pew rents, opening our doors to all followers of Jesus Christ. Our tradition of worship is preserved through the Daily Office and the celebration of Mass every day, offering blessings and spiritual growth to all who join us.
Our weekly schedule includes:
- Morning Prayer at 7:30 am and 8:00 am
- Low Mass at 8:00 am
- Sung Mass at 9:00 am
- Solemn Mass at 11:00 am
- Evening Prayer at 5:30 pm
- Low Mass with Healing at 6:00 pm
Christian Stewardship at The Advent is seen as an opportunity to share God's work in our lives with the community. We believe that giving, in any measure, is a testament to our gratitude for a God who loves us.
We invite you to join us in worship, service, and community, as we strive together to deepen our faith and understanding of God's love.
