"".....and the love of many will grow cold." Jesus Christ (Matt 24:12) Most of the reviews here are very old, so I wanted to write my experience over the past 1.5 years. idk if it's my skin color, age, or ethnicity but I found this church to be rather cold, unfriendly, and unwelcoming .I attended one of their "neighborhood groups" for a while and a couple of times to the Sunday services.since I work every Sunday. At the least the church is the epitome of socially awkwardness or at the worst simply unloving, uncaring, and unwelcoming. At least they were towards me. It seems they were looking for a particular type of person and I didn't fit the bill. So if you go, maybe you ll fit the particular profile they are looking for and they ll be welcoming . Maybe you won't and you ll get the cold shoulder , socially awkward treatment. I just want you to know IT IS NOT YOU . IT'S THE CHURCH. You ll just have to keep searching til you find ppl that actually believe and practice the faith that Jesus taught , Love thy neighbor as thyself ". I was taught as a child , "the more education they have the less they know." There seems to be a lot of PHds here, but they have forgotten kindness, caring, and hospitality which are the hallmarks of Christianity . I made no friends, found no community, felt unwelcomed, and definitely did not find a church. This church epitomizes why Americans hate church. That was my experience. Maybe yours will be different. Best Wishes on your search ."
"A home to growth in faith and love via example and practice. CotC is a welcoming community centered around neighborhood small groups. Sunday worship services are grounded in liturgical tradition while welcoming fresh expression via extremely talented music directors and integrated visual art. Pastoral staff and parish are dedicated to pastoral care (knowing & ministering to congregants) while also delivering consistently thoughtful and engaging sermons. This is a place where you can be known, even in the transient city of Boston."
"Very thankful for this community. Been there 8 years and counting. They have meals after the service most Sundays, which is an excellent way to get to know some people quickly and deeply. It's such a vibrant and meaningful community. I have so many friends from this community, and there's so many people to support me through life. Young adults, families and kids, wiser folks. It's a great place for all. Informal tone but meaningful structure to their services."
"Church of the Cross has been a home to me and my family for 6 years, where we have been cared for, loved and nourished by the church family that makes up this wonderful church. Great space to learn more about Christ and His love, in the Anglican tradition. Wonderful church for young families, singles, and new people to Boston looking for community!"
"A very welcoming community with a lot of ways to get involved and know people. Lunch after the service most weeks, fun events throughout the year, lots of folks at various stages of life, and lots of kids. There's a great group for college students and young adults to get connected, too."
