"The Stoneham DPW is awesome! I have had to call them recently about a cemetery question. Donna was so helpful, knowledgeable and kind. She was able to assist me through the process of my question from the beginning to end. I also want to praise all of the DPW workers, especially through COVID. A lot of professionals get thank you for what they did and do during COVID. I never thought about different professions until a family member passed from COVID and I had to call the DPW. After speaking with them, I realized that they too are affected and should be thanked for their compassion and tireless efforts as they receive many phone calls from grieving families telling their story of COVID death. From the person answering the phone to people working in the cemetery, I thank you so very much. What would we do without you!"
"Like most towns - no concerns for the residents, just their paycheck and pension. Do as little as possible. I wrote to public works about pothole for nine straight years before I just gave up - like they wanted me to. Do it yourself."
"DPW was really responsive in removing a dead town tree from in front of our house. Donna in the office was super helpful in getting us in touch with the right people and the Tree Warden and his crew were very professional and nice. Tree is gone 5 stars."
"I've been in Stoneham since last winter, and it's quite clear that whoever runs this town doesn't care about it's residents that walk or the the bus. The city piles all the snow onto the sidewalks, and doesn't care that businesses and homes don't clean or shovel their homes or the sidewalks in front of businesses, forcing ppl to walk and wait in the middle of the street. It's shameful! Stricter enforcment of snow removal for buinesses and homes needs to happen."
"Any street that is NOT a main road is a mess after snowstorms. The sidewalks around the square are only hit or miss cleared by the town (despite the fact all should be cleared) and they show no intention of improving the situation."
