About the Business
Welcome to Flaherty Playground, a vibrant oasis nestled in the heart of Boston at 40 Cornwall Street. As part of the extensive Boston Parks and Recreation Department, we are dedicated to creating and maintaining clean, green, and safe open spaces for all to enjoy. Our commitment extends across more than 2,300 acres of parkland throughout Boston, including 217 city parks, playgrounds, and athletic fields, as well as two golf courses, 65 squares, 17 fountains, and 75 game courts.
At Flaherty Playground, families and individuals can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in a welcoming and accessible environment. Whether you're looking for a peaceful spot to relax, a place for your kids to play, or an area to engage in sports and recreation, our park offers something for everyone.
Join us for free family favorite movie nights in your neighborhood parks, or experience the vibrant sounds of the Tito Puente Latin Music Series, returning to Boston parks in July and August. Our collaboration with Roundhead Brewing Company and Fresh Food Generation brings Alianza, a unique traveling beer garden, to our city, providing a refreshing way to enjoy the outdoors.
We invite you to explore the Boston Parks and Recreation Department's full schedule of free events and activities, perfect for all ages and interests. From our historic Emerald Necklace to our active cemeteries and urban wilds, Boston's parks offer endless opportunities for exploration and enjoyment.
Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our Tree Removal and Parks and Recreation Commission hearings are being held online. If you wish to remove a healthy tree, a public hearing is required.

Reviews
"Not very crowded. Good for solo play. Definitely a 2-5 year old type of place. If less than 2 you have to do a bit more chasing as the playground is very tall"
